The Leadership team is a group of men seeking the Lords will in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the saints. This group of men break down into two groups elders and deacons. In Eph Ch 4:11, they are referred as 'pastors', 'teachers' and 'evangelists' too. In 1 Timothy Ch 3, Paul lays down the qualifications of elders and deacons. Elders are also referred as "Bishops" or "Overseers" of the local assembly. Brethren call them widely as elders. In first century church, Deacons used to minister in the physical needs of the church (Acts Ch 6) and others the spiritual needs. But in the present day church there is no such hard and fast division of ministering between the spiritual and physical needs. Elders hold a higher spiritual responsibilty of the local church compared to deacons and their ministry is more pastoral.
