Jabe Nicholson has been the focus of some discussion about para-church organizations among the brethren, as he holds a position of significant influence through Uplook magazine. Some have nicknamed those who follow him 'Uplook brethren'. Although not officially appointed to a position above that of the local church, Nicholson is able to function as a quasi-apostle over the more conservative assemblies, demonstrating the influence necessary to pull together the GNOM and C3 teams.
