[edit] changes to main page Feb2006

Perhaps we should discuss the revisions by 209.66.124.150. Perhaps the user could comment on what the purpose of the changes were. --70.25.107.125 09:54, 7 February 2006 (EST)

I did not understand why the user 209.66.124.150 made the changes he had made the leaving open lines of code exposed, and the very large changes to the content of the portal? I would love to know your feelings of what changes your were thinking of 209.66.124.150, and if we can help you make those changes and if you need any help in understanding how to edit by all feel free to ask we will love to help ya so we can keep all code hidden and only the text showing...

I also left this part of the code in from 209.66.124.150 changes... I am hoping that 209.66.124.150 might be able to let us know the benafit of this code for I see is in the main page as well, thanks so much

that's a fairly standard wiki spamming technique that can be easily blocked --Ymmotrojam 16:35, 23 July 2006 (EDT)

[edit] GFDL

It's against the terms of the GFDL to simply copy/paste content from Wikipedia without attribution. As far as I can tell, that's the extent of your content. Wouldn't it make much more sense for you to simply work on the Wikipedia articles rather than forking them? That way our efforts aren't duplicated. Also, please do not add links to these articles as external links on Wikipedia, since these articles are just copies of Wikipedia articles. External links are meant to add something to Wikipedia articles, and at this point BrethrenPedia articles do not. --Wikipedian 10:07, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

Thank you for pointing this out. Could you please list the articles that do not give attribution so we can fix that? Either that or feel free to write it in. --User:Shawn 19:04, 18 August 2006 (EDT)
Elisabeth Elliot, Jim Elliot, George Mueller, Hudson Taylor and John Nelson Darby. Note that four of these I found simply by clicking on the link from the main page, so I expect that the problem is systemic; that is, that far more of your articles are unsourced. Again, let me reiterate that it doesn't make sense to fork Wikipedia articles—more can be done by combining efforts on Wikipedia. --Wikipedian 07:43, 6 September 2006 (EDT)

[edit] A Question

What is the main purpose of this Wiki? Are we trying to show who the Brethren are and what they believe?-- Matt the Cook
